Beach Q 407 lies on the southern side of a 50 m long clump of large granite boulders, with a more substantial low granite point forming the southern boundary of the 60 m long beach. It is composed of moderately sloping white sand, and backed by a veneer of dunes, then bedrock. It is fronted by the continuation of the 300 m wide fringing reef, together with the scattered granite rocks and reefs.
