Janie Creek has been deflected 4 km to the north by the northern end of beach Q 144. Beach Q 145 is located in the 100 m wide creek mouth and runs along in lee of beach Q 144 for 900 m to the northern side of the creek and the beginning of beach Q 146. It is a low wave energy beach fronted by the deep tidal channel, then sand flats and the spit and creek mouth shoals which extend up to 500 m off the beach.
