Beach Q 140 is a 36 km long, relatively straight, continuous sand beach. It is backed by a 0.5-1 km wide series of Holocene foredunes, then the extensive wetlands of Nomenade Creek. The beach has a moderate to steep slope and is well exposed to the gulf waves, with periodic high waves maintaining a series of well developed rhythmic low tide bars and rips (Fig. 6.24), and backing highly crenulate shoreline topography (Fig. 6.25), with the bars and rips spaced about every 200 m. This results in up to 180 bar-rip systems located along the beach.
Beach Length: 0.035km
