Beach Q 209 commences on the eastern side of Battery Point and curves gently east for 3.8 km, to a cuspate foreland formed in lee of Mona Rock. This is a relatively steep sandy beach, with some rocks outcropping toward Battery Point, but otherwise dominated by a 300 m wide series of ridged sand flats, and backed by a 200-300 m wide band of wooded beach-foredune ridge. Punsand Bay Private Reserve is located behind the beach and offers accommodation and camping facilities.
