A bedrock islet marks the southern end of the beach, beyond which the shoreline curves to the west for 1.5 km as beach Q 230, followed by the mangroves of Jackey Jackey Creek. This is a very low energy inlet beach fronted by an 800 m wide mixture of intertidal sand ridges and tidal sand shoals. It is backed by densely vegetated dunes that have blown over from neighbouring Congora Beach.
