Beach Q 189 commences on the north side of a rock-controlled inflection at the northern end of beach Q 188. The beach continues to the northeast for another 1 km, to a more substantial rock-controlled inflection. This beach is backed by wooded 10 m high bedrock slopes, and also fronted by the irregular 400 m wide sand and rock flats. A road runs along the top of the slopes.
