Seisia beach (Q 195) commences at a 10 m high bedrock headland with a small creek draining across the southern end of the beach. It curves round to the north for 2 km, terminating at the cuspate foreland (Red Island Point) formed in lee of Red Island. The settlement of Seisia is located on the low foreland, together with the jetty and landing ramp (Fig. 6.32). The southern half of the beach is dominated by sand and rock flats, as well as patchy reef, while the steep northern half fronts the deep 300 m wide tidal channel between the foreland and the island. The Seisia community extends halfway down the beach, and a number of facilities are located on the foreland including a beachfront camping and caravan park, motel, restaurant, fuel station and store.
