Beach Q 69 commences at King Creek and curves gradually to trend due north where it terminates as a series of recurved spits at the 1 km wide Holroyd River mouth. The 19 km long beach is backed by the eroding interbarrier depression and exposed beachrock for the first 7.5 km, then a widening band of beach-foredune ridges that terminate in the 3 km wide splay of more than 20 recurved spits at the river. There is a semi-permanent fishing camp located on a recurved spit on the southern arm of the river. For much of its length the beach has a moderately steep gradient fronted by a 50 m wide low tide bar, which begins widening 5 km south of the river mouth to a 1.5 km wide series of more than 20 intertidal low sand ridges.
Beach Length: 19km
