Beach Q 64 is an 8.6 km long west-facing beach that trends relatively straight between Moonkan Creek and the small Edward River mouth. Wave energy increases gradually north of the Melamen Plain, and the beach receives sufficiently high waves to maintain a 100 m wide low tide bar cut by northward-deflected enechelon rips, spaced every 400-500 m. It is backed by a 1-2 km wide Holocene outer beach ridge barrier, a 3 km wide interbarrier depression and the inner Pleistocene barrier.
Beach Length: 8.6km
