Home Cove is the most southern mainland beach in Australia and is located just 5 km from the southern tip at South Point. It is a protected beach lying in lee of Waterloo Point; it faces the north and is 50 m in length, with a few large granite boulders on the beach and in the water. It can only be reached by boat and its deep, usually calm water provides a good anchorage. The beach is composed of white quartz sand; and steep, forested slopes rise immediately behind the beach.
