On the inner southern side of 2 km long Tongue Point is a protected 250 m long, south-west facing beach. The walking track to Tongue Point runs along the ridge 300 m behind the beach. It is bordered by high granite headlands and backed by steep vegetated slopes. The beach only receives refracted waves averaging less than 1 m, which produce a usually continuous narrow bar. There is a chance of rips against the rocks when waves exceed 1 m.
