Beach WA 1652 commences on the northern side of the channel and continues to the northeast for 4 km to the southern entrance to Urala Creek. This beach is part of a barrier island which includes an inner 2 km wide splay of recurved spits, fronted by later more linear beach ridges, which splay to active recurved spits at either creek mouth. Tidal shoals lie off either end with narrower sand flats along the centre.
