Beach WA 1980 extends for 400 m along the southern side of the cape. It is a southwest-facing high tide beach wedged between the backing 10 m high vegetated slope of the cape, and a 50-100 m wide zone of upper intertidal rocks, then the 1 km wide sand and tidal flats of its neighbour, beach WA 1979. A vehicle track reaches the eastern end of the beach.
