Beach WA 1972 occupies the northern 3.7 km of shore from the northern creek to the rocky boundary with the cape. Wave energy increases slightly up the beach, due in part of the more moderate gradient of the intertidal. The beach consists of a well developed 500 m wide ultradissipative system, backed by more than 30 foredune ridges extending 1.8 km inland to the 1-1.5 km wide backbarrier depression. A vehicle track via Munganoo Well reaches the northern end of the beach and runs out along the cape. The entire beach-barrier system has prograded up to 2 km west as a series of foredune ridges, truncated by the two creeks, and in the south complemented by the 4 km long series of outer recurved spits and foredune ridges.
Beach Length: 3.7km
General Hazard Rating: 1/10
