Beach WA 1966 commences on the eastern side of the shallow 500 m wide creek mouth that’s separates it from beach WA 1965. The beach continues northeast for 10.5 km to the next shallow tidal creek. In between it is backed by a continuous 100-300 m wide foredunes, the rear reworked by the backing tidal creeks, which flow to either end, and are linked buy a continuous interbarrier depression. The depression totals 7 km in width with three to four sets of isolated foredune ridges extending across the first 3.5 km of the depression. Mandora homestead is located 7 km due south of the southwestern end of the beach. A vehicle track from the homestead reach the southern end of the beach where an outstation is located. It then runs along back of the beach and along the rear of the outer foredune.
