A narrow calcarenite platform and backing bluffs separates the main beach from the central section. The beach (WA 713) is 500 m long and includes a 50 m wide central intertidal rock platform.
Waves averaging over 1.5 m break on the reef producing the well known Super Tubes break. An exposed section of calcarenite separates it from the northern section (WA 714), a 200 m long beach bordered by the granulite slopes of Torpedo Rocks to the north, with a few reef patches off the beach.
Waves break over a mixture of sand and reefs, the latter including a break known as Torpedo Rocks. Other breaks in the area are Steeping Stones and Palisades. Both beaches have strong rips between the reefs during higher waves. They are backed by dune-draped slopes climbing to a 90 m high ridge.
Beach Length: 0.5km
