Beach K 156 is located on the northern side of the point. It is a 200 m long west-facing high tide sand beach, with low tide sand flats grading into 300-400 m wide reef flats. It is backed in the north by a grassy 1 m high foredune rising to 2 m in the south where there is some instability. Five hundred metre long Point Usborne forms the southern boundary, and a 100 m long headland, the northern boundary.
