Beach WA 10 is centered on the track from Mandura, 50 km to the north. The beach extends for 20 km to the the east and 28 km to the west. Where the track reaches the beach it crosses 5 km of elevated dunes, which rise to 32 m. However the present 50 km of shoreline is dominated by low wave conditions and generally stable foredune, with only a few areas of dune activity, the largest at 192 km, extending about 500 m inland. However earlier (mid-Holocene ?) transgressive dunes have extended on average 2-3 km, and in places up to 4-5 km inland. These are now vegetated and stable. The beach maintains a low gradient, with a continuous low tide bar, and seagrass meadows further out. Most wave energy is attenuated across the continuous shallow nearshore zone (Fig. 4.8).
Beach Length: 0.049km
