Beach WA 1939 occupies the southeastern tip of the calcarenite recurved spit that extends from Cartaminia Point, with 500 m of mangroves separating it from beach WA 1938. It is a low energy mangrove-fringed crenulate beach that faces east across the tidal channel and associated sand shoals. Low vegetated dunes back the beach, with the vehicle track from the point terminating at the creek.
