Beach WA 1940 is located on the opposite side of the 100 m wide creek mouth. It tends east for 2.7 km as a low energy high tide beach fronted by 1 km wide sand flats. It grades into mangroves in the east, which dominate the shoreline until the boundary calcarenite point. A 500 m wide low barrier with an inner 11 m high foredune ridge backs the beach. This is in turn backed by 2 km wide salt flats, which drains to tidal creeks to either side.
Beach Length: 2.7km
