Beach WA 1955 commences at the shallow 300 m wide Cootenbrand Creek and trends to the east for 8 km to the 500 m wide shallow mouth of Meetyou Creek. Both creeks can be negotiable by vehicles at low tide. The beach is exposed to all waves out of the north which maintain a 1 km wide very low gradient ultradissipative beach (Fig. 2.19a). The beach is backed by a 2-3 km wide inner and outer barrier, the outer barrier composed of several well develop foredunes. The outer 500 m of the foredunes have been reactivated along a 6 km long section of the beach and now form a series of well developed bare transverse dunes, aligned to the dominant easterly winds.
Beach Length: 8km
General Hazard Rating: 1/10
