Beach WA 1946 commences past the mangroves and curves gently to the east, then northeast for 6.5 m to a small tidal creek draining across the beach 500 m south of red Point. The beach is fronted by sand then mud flats that widen from 1 km in the west to 1.5 km near Red Point. It is backed by a 1 km wide series of 12 foredune ridges which reach to 22 m in height, with Pardoo Homestead located 3 km south of the western end of the beach, on the southern side of the intervening salt flats and swamp. Vehicle tracks and a central fence line cross the foredunes to reach the shore, with the fence extending out across the sand flats.
