WA 1949 continues northeast of the creek for 1.5 km terminates as a low vegetated, 100 m wide spit, that finally grades into an 800 m wide mangrove-filled tidal creek, with 11m high Mount Blaze on the northern side of the creek, 1 km north of the end of the beach. The entire barrier complex is backed by salt flats, which widen from 1 km behind Red Point to 5 km in lee of the terminal recurved spits.
