WA 134 (Fig. 4.34). This pocket beach is 200 m long, faces east across the bay and receives waves averaging less than 0.5 m, which break across a narrow attached bar. A few boulders also litter the beach and seagrass grows to within 50 m of the shore. It can only be reached on foot along the main beach. Hellfire Bay lies 2.5 km to the west of Thistle Cove, with 178 m high Boulder Hill separating the two. Hellfire Bay is a 1 km deep, south-facing bay with a 1 km wide mouth and shoreline dominated by steeply rising granite slopes. Two beaches are located at the mouths of valleys on the northern side of the bay (WA 135 & 136). A gravel road leads to the eastern end of the main beach (WA 136) with a 500 m walk around the back of the rocks required to reach beach WA 135.
