. Beach WA 118 commences on the north side of the 100 m long point and is a 400 m long exposed beach, bounded to the north by a 120 m high granite spur. The beach receives waves averaging over 1.5 m, which maintain a single permanent rip against the northern rocks. A small creek drains out across the southern end of the beach. The two beaches are backed by both active and vegetated transgressive dunes. Active dunes and deflated areas extend for 2.5 km east of beach WA 117 reaching the back of Wharton Beach (Fig. 4.29) and climbing Cheyne Point to form a 50 m high clifftop dune which descends down onto the small point beach (WA 115). There is 4WD access across the deflation surfaces to all four beaches.
