Beach WA 109 is bordered by a 40 m high granite headland to the north and Hammer Head to the south, the latter extending 500 m to the east. The beach is 550 m long and composed of white quartz sand, with low waves and cusps dominating the beach face and deep water close inshore. It is backed by active dune transgression originating from its western neighbours, beaches WA 110 and 111. The three beaches form a tombolo, linking three granite outcrops (Fig. 4.27). Beaches WA 110 and 111 are located either side of a 20 m high granite outcrop, which together with beach WA 109 link Hammer Head and mainland.
