Beach WA 183 lies immediately to the west and is a similar 650 m long beach, with a patch of rock in the centre. It has a strong eastern rip, and second rip running out off the central rocks, with waves decreasing slightly towards the western end in lee of rock reefs. The beginning of the beach marks the eastern boundary of Stokes National Park. The eastern half of Stokes National Park, east of Stokes Inlet contains seven beaches (WA 183-189), all bordered by low gneiss headlands and rocks, with dune-draped Shoal Cape occupying a central position. Shore-parallel beachrock reefs dominate between the cape and inlet. There is 4WD access off the Quagi Road, via the sandy 10 km long Farrells track to Fanny Cove and Shoal Cape, with a basic camping area in lee of the sheltered western corner of Fanny Cove.
