Beach WA 173 is tucked in the western corner of the beach, between the rocky shore and a 300 m long gneiss headland. The beach is 100 m long, faces east and is protected by the headland and rock reefs, with waves averaging about 1 m at the shore where there surge up a reflective beach. The small bay is, however, drained by a permanent central rip.
