WA 187 is the most protected of the three western beaches. It is 1 km long and forms three sandy crescents between inner beachrock outcrops along the shore (Fig. 4.51). Waves averaging about 0.5 m at the shore and a reef formed ‘lagoon’ lies between the beach and second reef. However beware of currents flowing through gaps in the beachrock and out of the lagoon.
