Beach WA 198 commences on the western side of the head and trends west for 2 km to the narrow, deflected mouth of the Torradup River. The first kilometre of beach has shore-parallel beachrock reef, with a more continuous bar toward the river mouth. Waves average less than 1.5 m and maintain a 50 m wide surf zone, with three permanent rip to the east, and occasional beach rips to the west. A 500 m long blowout backs the central section of the beach.
