Beach WA 149 continues on the southern side of the groyne for 400 m to the Yacht Club breakwater and jetty. The attached breakwater extends 200 m seaward curving at its tip to provide additional shelter to a floating jetty to its lee. In addition there is wharf and a beach boat ramp on the north side. A second boat ramp is located toward the centre of the beach. Waves are usually low to calm along the beach. A seawall and foreshore reserve backs both beaches, then the Esplanade and town centre.
