Israelite Bay beach (WA 28) commences on the western side of the Point Lorenzen tombolo and initially trends west before curving round to face east at the old jetty site. The beach is 5 km long and receives low waves in the north, decreasing in height to the south, with sand flats lying off the southern end of the beach. The waves are sufficiently low to permit the operation of the jetty, which was used to supply the telegraph station (1887-1927), located 1 km southwest of the jetty. Today the sandy Fisheries Road track terminates at the southern end of the beach near the ruins of the old jetty. There is a fishing camp behind the beach as well as an informal camping area, with fishing boats sometimes moored off the beach.
Beach Length: 5.2km
General Hazard Rating: 3/10
