Beach WA 29 is a slowly migrating recurved spit that has migrated across the southern few hundred metres of Israelite Bay beach enclosing a small salty lagoon, which drains across the boundary of the two beaches (Fig. 4.12). The spit originated in lee of Point Dempster as a curving 1 km long very low energy beach, which continues on for another 800 m as the spit, which curves back into the main Israelite Bay beach. The beach and spit are fronted by 300 m wide sand flats and then shallow seagrass meadows, all protected by the point and rock reefs extending 2 km east of the point. Seagrass debris dominates both beaches.
Beach Length: 1.8km
General Hazard Rating: 1/10
