Jims Beach (WA 1598) occupies a large sandy foreland composed of multiple foredune ridges, which has prograded up to 600 m seaward in the centre. The beach extends for 4.2 km to the northeast terminating at Vlaming Head. Waves break heavily on the outer end of the 500-600 m wide fringing reefs that parallel the shore (Fig. 4.356), resulting in low surging waves and reflective conditions the length of the beach. The Jacobzs, Mauritius and Hunter access tracks cross the foredunes to provide access along the northern half of the beach.
Beach Length: 4.2km
