The beach trends north form 800 m, with a series of small outcrops along the shore inducing several crenulations. Waves break both over the reefs as well as a heavy shore break. The beach is backed a generally vegetated 20 m high foredune with a few blowouts, then older dunes extending up to 1 km inland. Numerous 4 WD tracks cross the dunes to the beach, and connect to Tims Thicket Road, the main access track.
