Beach WA 1931 extends east of the creek mouth for 1.8 km before begin taken over by a 300 m wide band of mangroves that continue east for another 3.5 km to the eastern end of the 6.5 km long Shellborough barrier. The open beach section is backed by degraded foredunes up to 20 m high that are actively blowing up to 500 m inland, the dune activity extending east behind the mangroves. The beach is backed by the disused Condon Well in the centre and the Shellborough landing ground on the backing salt flats.
