Beach WA 1889 is a curving, northwest-facing 200 m long strip of high tide sand located at the western tip of the island. It is bordered by low calcarenite bluffs, with a clump of mangroves fringing the northern end and tidal flats extending 300 m off the beach. Beach WA 1890 is located 100 m to the east and consists of a curving, north-facing 250 m long high tide sand beach, fronted by a small embayment filled with mangrove-dotted calcarenite rock flats. Both beaches are backed by a veneer of Holocene dune sand over the Pleistocene calcarenite. Beach WA 1891 is located towards the eastern end of the island in a curving 300 m long embayment that is dominated by low calcarenite bluffs (Fig. 4.401). The small 50 m long pocket of sand occupies a gap in the bluffs, with rock flats exposed at low tide. The entire embayment is backed by moderately active foredune extending up to 100 m inland.
