Beach WA 230 initially trends west of the foreland before curving to the south with a total length of 2.2 km. The entire embayment off the beach is filled with shallow gneiss reefs and rocks, with rocks also outcropping along the western half of the beach. The beach is usually calm with a steep, narrow reflective beach backed by a low densely vegetated foredune, which diminishes to the west. There is a small basic camping area with amenities and water behind the eastern end of the beach, with vehicle access to the beach for boat launching. However beware of the steep, soft beach and rocks and reef right off the launching site. A second rough access track also reaches the western end of the beach. Mason Bay is an open south-facing, 3 km wide embayment, bordered by 30 m high dune-capped gneiss headlands. The bay shore is dominated by one longer exposed beach (WA 233), with small protected, rock-bound pocket beaches dominating both headlands. The gravel Mason Bay Road reaches the shore in lee of beach WA 235, providing foot access to the remaining beaches. Beaches WA 231 and 232 occupy the eastern headland. Beach
