WA 244 separates from the reef again forming an elongate lagoon between the relatively straight near continuous reef and the crenulate shore. The beach and lagoon are 2.2 km in length, with the lagoon reaching up to 100 m in width. Blowouts in the east and scarped dunes in the west back the beach, with the road running just behind the western half of the beach.
