Beach WA 229 commences on the western side of the tombolo and curves round to the southwest for 900 m to a more rounded cuspate foreland that separates it from beach WA 230. Gneiss reefs and seagrass meadows occupy the nearshore between the points, with usually calm conditions at the shore, and a steep reflective beach and low stable foredune. There is no vehicle access to the beach, however it can be reached from the car park in lee of beach WA 230, 500 m to the west.
