Kennedy Bay beach WA 795 extends for 1.3 km northeast from the point to Bridport Point. It is a curving north-northwest facing beach, and forms the southern arm of the sound. Sand flats continue along the beach and low wave to calm conditions usually prevail. The foredune ridges behind the eastern end of the beach were transformed in the late 1990’s into a major development, with a gold course and housing estates, including beachfront houses, separated from the shore by a 50 m wide foreshore reserve. A large public car park is located at the western end of the development, towards the eastern end of the beach and a marina and boat harbour is proposed for the centre of the beach. It terminates at a gentle cuspate foreland formed in lee of the inner most sand shoal.
