Beaches K 1354-1356 are part of a near continuous 14 km long north-facing barrier island composed of chenier through foredune ridges. Beach K 1354 commences 7 km east of beach K 1353, on the eastern side of a 2 km wide inlet channel. The barrier system has prograded northward during the Holocene and consists of an inner and outer barrier, the inner composed of crenulate, discontinuous recurved-chenier spits, the outer a mixture of inner spits and cheniers, grading into outer foredune and some dune activity. The entire outer system is being eroded in the west with sand moving toward the east. The modern beach is 8.7 km long and consists of the high tide sand and 200-500 m wide intertidal mud flats.
Beach Length: 8.7km
