Beach K 944 lies 1 km further east on the eastern side of the sand projection. It is a 1.5 km long beach grading into a spit system. The beach is attached to the bedrock in the west, and extends 600 m to the west as an attached sand spit, then another 900 m as a detached spit that has slowly been extending to the west, and also represents the terminus for sand moving into the upper reaches of Pauline Bay. The spit is occasionally breached and for the most part is backed by sand flats, with extensive tidal shoals and channels off the beach-spit.
