Beach WA 397 is a sheltered beach located just inside the entrance to Oyster Harbour, on the northern side of Emu Point. The beach is 400 m long extending from the eastern training wall to the Emu Point marina. The beach receives no ocean waves, only low winds waves from the harbour. It faces north into the harbour and is fronted by 200 m wide shallow tidal sand flats grading into seagrass meadows. A fenced tidal pool is located towards the eastern end, while there is a dredge hole associated with the marina at the western end. The popular beach is backed by Emu Point park, picnic area, playground, car park and boat ramp.
