Misery Beach (WA 408) extends 200 m east of the whaling station to a low granite point. It is a low energy reflective beach with patchy seagrass offshore. It is backed by cleared land, with a gravel road and car park on the eastern point, which it shares with beach WA 409. The ramp for the whaling station is located at the western end of the beach, and when the station operated with beach used to be covered in the blood and debris from the butchered whales, perhaps the reason for the name.
