Grunters Beach (WA 656) is the back beach from Prevelly Park. The northern car park provides a good view of the beach and surf, with a second car park behind the southern end of the beach in lee of Marmaduke Point. The beach receives waves lowered by the offshore reefs and is usually steep and reflective with at times a heavy shorebreak (Fig. 4.135). However a strong permanent rip still drains out against Marmaduke Point. The best surf is off the northern reef, known as Grunters, and southern Marmaduke point, known as Gas Bay and The Hollow. Two vegetating blowouts back the centre of the beach, with the access road running behind.
Beach Length: 0.3km
