The main bay beach (WA 679) curves along the centre of the bay shore for 800 m. Cowaramup Brook crosses the southern section of the beach, with a large car park and foreshore reserve along the northern half. Rocks outcrop along and off the beach, which combined with reefs in the bay lower waves to less than 1 m at the shore. The northern 80 m long beach (WA 680) is tucked in between rocks and the northern point and is located at a southern boundary of the national park A concrete boat ramp and small groyne are located at the eastern end of the sheltered beach. Out in the bay off the beach is the reef break called North Point, a potentially long heavy righthander.
