Beach WA 685 commences 50 m to the north of 684 and is initially a narrow beach wedged between the bluffs and a 50 m wide calcarenite platform. The 1 km long beach then widens into a steep, sand-filled valley that parallels the end of the Cullen Road. The centre of the beach is fronted by shallow reefs, which include two surf breaks - The Guillotine to the south and The Gallows out front, just off the beach. As the names imply both are heavy reef breaks. The platform and bluffs resume along the northern half of the beach, which finally pinches out between the bluffs and platform.
