The eastern beach (WA 511) is a curving 300 m long west-facing beach that lies at the base of the cliffs. It terminates at a slight protrusion in the bluffs, with rocks at the base of the cliffs protruding 50 m into the surf. It receives waves averaging 1.5-2 m which break across a 150 m wide surf zone with usually a central bar drained by permanent rips at either end.
