Beach WA 486 extends from the tombolo for 500 m to the west, with more beachrock occupying the intertidal along the western 100 m of the beach. In addition scattered beachrock reefs extend up to 100 m offshore, with the high energy 200 m wide surf zone having multiple breaks over the reefs and patches of sandy seafloor. While waves are relatively low by the time they reach the shore, this is a very hazardous, reef-strewn surf zone drained by a strong central rip that flows out between the reefs. Beaches WA 486 and 487 are separated by a rounded 200 m long, vegetated headland.
Beach Length: 0.5km
General Hazard Rating: 8/10
